Alexandra Nichols serves as principal accompanist at Greenwood, and regularly provides piano and violin music for our worship services and concerts. She is currently pursuing the Bachelor of Music degree at Rhode Island College, double-majoring in piano and violin performance. At RIC, she is a member of the Symphony Orchestra, Concert Chorus, Chamber Orchestra, and Early Music Ensemble, amongst other performing groups. Alexandra showed a high musical aptitude from an early age, beginning early childhood music classes at age three at the RI Philharmonic Music School. An avid solo performer around Rhode Island, Alexandra has performed in masterclasses with pianist and esteemed pedagogue Dr. Sean Schulze, past Rhode Island Philharmonic Music Director Larry Rachleff, and was selected to play in a masterclass with pianist Gideon Rubin. Before coming to Greenwood, Alexandra served as Assistant Organist and participated in the choral program at Church of the Annunciation in Cranston, and as an active choral singer, she is a past member of both the acclaimed Providence Singers and RI Children’s Chorus. Alexandra brings a wealth of talent, passion and joy to her position at Greenwood, and we are greatly blessed by her work with our music ministry.
